Dear students,

Are you interested in writing but feel you don’t have much experience? Do you have a great article idea but not enough time to join the writing committee? Or perhaps you’re simply unsure whether writing for Centuria is right for you?

We’ve got the perfect opportunity for you!

The Centuria Journal is excited to announce its first-ever ARTICLE OPEN CALL!

This initiative invites all SSMS students—from every year—to explore writing by contributing a research article.

Theme of the 2026 Open Call:

ONGOING GEOPOLITICAL CONFLICTS

You are free to explore any safety or security topic related to an active geopolitical conflict.

Here are a few example directions you might take:

  • The impact of the civil war in Myanmar on public health
  • The historical roots of the Israel–Palestine conflict
  • How a potential U.S. withdrawal from the WHO could affect national health
  • COVID-19 and bioterrorism: lessons learned and future preparedness
  • The importance of safety and security in today’s global landscape

We encourage you to venture beyond the headlines. Consider exploring lesser-known conflicts or focusing on a conflict that holds personal significance. You have full freedom to choose any ongoing conflict as the basis for your article.
