This is your chance to actively shape your student experience at SSMS for yourself and those around you. Work together with alumni, lecturers, and friends to implement your ideas!

When?

The academic year 2025/26 will start with an entirely new board, a fresh start, where you can make a difference. Being a board member will open many doors for you in the future. Especially during your internship search, you will stand out because of unique skills and work experience.

President

The President oversees the overall functioning of the study association, providing leadership and direction to the board members. She/He act as the main representative of the association, liaising with external stakeholders and ensuring that the association’s goals and objectives are met.

President tasks:

  • Represents the association and works with internal stakeholders
  • Acts as the main connection between the association, faculty, and external partners
  • Delegates tasks and oversees board responsibilities
  • Mediates board meetings and co-creates the agenda with the Vice President
  • Reviews content before publishing and ensures internal standards
  • Enforces rules, manages committees, and oversees board appointments
  • Attends events and stakeholder meetings
  • Checks emails and delegates inquiries

Vice President

The Vice President supports the President in their duties and acts as their deputy in their absence. They may also take on specific responsibilities delegated by the President, such as overseeing certain projects or committees, and assist in decision-making processes.

VP tasks:

  • ⁠Delegating emails and tasks to different managers
  • ⁠Evaluating and updating the handbook
  • Attending events and meetings
  • Overseeing of the OSINT Club
  • ⁠Liaising with the head of the Serious Gaming Initiative
  • Taking part in internal organization
  • Maintaining the logbook
  • Posting task division on MS teams

Treasurer

The Treasurer manages the financial affairs of the study association, including budgeting and financial compliance. They manage expenses, and provide financial guidance to the board. The treasurer is also responsible for the association’s merchandise department.

Treasurer tasks:

  • ⁠Organising and managing merchandise sales
  • Keeping track of the members
  • ensuring the finances are in order and the association has enough funds
  • Budgeting
  • ⁠⁠ensuring invoices process and payments

Editor in Chief

The Editor-in-Chief oversees the Writing Committee, managing research articles, interviews, and the newsletter while ensuring APA source accuracy. They create the publishing schedule, edit content, collaborate with other committees, and contribute by writing articles or conducting interviews.

Editor in Chief tasks:

  • ⁠Overseeing the Writing Committee (research articles, interviews, newsletter)
  • Creating the publishing schedule
  • Liaising with other committees for collaboration
  • Editing all research articles and interviews
  • Checking APA sources
  • Writing articles/conducting interviews yourself

PR Manager

The Public Relations Manager is in charge of managing the study association’s communication with both internal and external stakeholders. This involves creating and disseminating promotional materials, managing social media accounts and overseeing the PR committee.

PR Manager tasks:

  • ⁠Managing social media accounts (Instagram, Linkedin, etc.)
  • Overseeing PR committee
  • Managaing marketing and branding of the association
  • Maintaining PR calendar
  • Creating and posting social media posts
  • Collaborating with Writing Committee

Event Manager

The Event Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events hosted by the study association. This includes coordinating logistics, securing venues, managing budgets, and ensuring that events run smoothly while aligning with the association’s goals and objectives.

Event Manager tasks:

  • Overseeing the Event committee (task delegation and execution)
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Determining resources needed for event
  • Attending and overseeing events
  • Creating event schedule for the association
